I am grew up in Pasadena and went to parties with the pre Van Halen Mammoth line up and with David's band Red Ball Jet and attended Muir High School with David. I was at the concert shown on the flyer. Headwinds was a Pasadena based band that my best friend played keyboards in. Eulogy was another popular local band that featured Rusty Anderson on lead guitar and he has been a member of Paul McCartney's tour band for many years.

I was an aspiring artist I was affiliated with the Klub City Decorators and those early days were a ripper. I did it to escape from a dysfunctional family and it was a lot better than doing drugs and the gangs. I lived around the corner from T Bone. I didn’t know what most of these artists until I was in my 40s. The best way to describe Philadelphia artists and their elusiveness is Clark Kent and Superman.

Trapeze, Montrose, Traffic, this is incredible for the time. Never heard Michael Anthony play anywhere near what he was obviously capable of. Even without Eddie's signature sound, this throws down.

8 pm to 1pm? Dam. I'm sick of it after 2 sets. Thier live timing was perfect. Good thing equipment got better and recording technology, etc. One will never really understand the power of VH unless one saw them live. The world is never the same after the show. EVH was a god walking among us. The audience paid homage to him as such. Even at his worst on the 2004 tour he killed live. Sammy was a really good singer live too. Him and DLR are 2 diff people. No sense in comparing. Saw then on the 2002 Sam and Dave tour. Both great. Just like seeing 2 diff bands. Even seeing DLR on a few Lo Do shows in the 90s, he brought the full experience.

I remember seeing the Hip City Swingers (HCS) tags from the 70s in the 80s while riding the market Frankford El. I remember Johnski, Toad, Kap and Chico on the rooftops visible from the train.
